Ukraine needs to enhance mobilization processes, as mere arms supplies from allies will not be enough to change the course of the war.
This opinion was expressed by U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in an interview with the PBS portal.
When asked whether faster deliveries of equipment to Ukraine could have changed the situation on the battlefield, Sullivan stated: “We provided tanks. We provided F-16s. We provided HIMARS. We provided Patriot systems. We provided much of what we previously said we would not provide.”
According to him, Ukraine currently finds itself in a challenging situation on the battlefield, indicating that “there is no direct line between these weapon systems and how they perform in combat.”
“What has the most direct correlation between Ukrainian performance and costs? It is mobilization and manpower,” Sullivan concluded.
It is worth noting that the topic of mobilization was addressed today by President Volodymyr Zelensky during the presentation of Ukraine's "internal resilience plan." He assured that the authorities are not planning to lower the mobilization age but are developing a new contract system for soldiers.
Additionally, it was reported that the Ministry of Defense has prepared proposals aimed at conducting reforms in the mobilization sector of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
