Ukrainian soldiers have captured two North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. They are already in communication with SBU investigators.
This was reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to him, the captured North Korean soldiers were wounded but survived. They have now been transported to Kyiv for communication with SBU investigators.
“Our warriors captured soldiers from North Korea in the Kursk region. These two soldiers, although injured, survived and were taken to Kyiv, where they are speaking with SBU investigators,” Zelensky wrote.
The President noted that capturing these fighters was not easy, as the Russians and other North Korean military personnel tend to finish off their wounded and do everything possible to ensure that there is no evidence of North Korea's involvement in the war against Ukraine.
“I am grateful to our tactical group No. 84 of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and our paratroopers who captured these two individuals. Like all prisoners, these two North Korean soldiers are receiving the necessary medical assistance,” Zelensky added.
Recall that at the end of December, it became known that the Defense Forces captured several North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. However, they were severely wounded, and therefore could not be revived.
Previously, Zelensky mentioned that deceased North Korean soldiers are found with Russian passports, and the Russians burn their faces to prevent identification.
