Советники Дональда Трампа предложили отложить вступление Украины в НАТО как минимум на 20 лет и заморозить войну по линии фронта, пишет WSJ.

Advisors to Donald Trump, who won the U.S. presidential election, are suggesting that he freeze the war in Ukraine along the current front line and suspend negotiations regarding Ukraine's NATO membership.

Trump after meeting with Zelensky: we both want a fair end to the warVolodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump provided the media with their first comments after their meeting in New York, particularly regarding the conclusion of the war in Ukraine. Zelensky also presented Trump with a Victory Plan.

It is noted that Trump has not yet approved a specific "peace plan." However, all proposals involve freezing the war, which would solidify Russia's capture of approximately 20% of Ukrainian territory, and pausing NATO membership negotiations.

Sources close to Trump described one of the ideas to the publication. It suggests that the front line will be fixed in its current position, and Ukraine and Russia will agree to create a demilitarized zone spanning 1,300 km. However, it remains unclear who will secure this territory (but it will not be American troops or peacekeepers from U.S.-funded organizations).

“We can provide training and other support, but the enforcement will be Europe. We are not sending American men and women to support peace in Ukraine. And we are not paying for it. Make the Poles, Germans, Britons, and French do it,” said a member of Trump's team.

Additionally, under this plan, Ukraine must promise to refrain from joining NATO for at least 20 years. In return, the U.S. is expected to continue supplying weapons to deter any potential new attacks from Russia.

It is worth noting that earlier, the Financial Times reported on Trump's plan to conclude the war in Ukraine. One of his advisors mentioned that this could involve “reconsidering the Minsk agreements.”

Trump's future vice president, J.D. Vance, suggested that the plan to end the war could include creating a “demilitarized zone” in Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated before the U.S. elections that Trump would not be able to force Ukraine into potential territorial concessions to end the war.
