The White House's budget management has not lifted the freeze on expenses for federal grants and loans; it only pertains to a single memorandum.
This was reported by White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt while commenting on information from CNN.
Journalists stated that the previous decision by the White House to suspend federal assistance "caused confusion and concern" among officials in Washington.
Levitt clarified that this is not about a complete cancellation of the federal funding freeze but rather the annulment of one specific memorandum.
"Why? To put an end to any confusion caused by the court injunction. The President's directives regarding federal funding remain in full force and will be strictly adhered to," she indicated.
Recall that on the evening of January 24, it became known that the U.S. suspended most foreign aid programs for 90 days. However, this does not pertain to military aid to Ukraine.
Subsequently, it was revealed that USAID in Ukraine received an order to halt project funding. The Ministry of Social Policy has already commented on the suspension of non-military aid from the U.S.
President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the government to prepare a report on the American support programs that were suspended by the new U.S. administration.
