Russians are preparing to use the medium-range ballistic missile “Oreshnik” against Ukraine for the second time.
This information comes from Bloomberg, citing its sources.
According to an American official, Russia may launch another “Oreshnik” ballistic missile at one of Ukraine's cities in the coming days.
The source also suggested that Putin has only a few experimental “Oreshnik” missiles, which carry a smaller warhead compared to other missiles that Russia has fired at Ukraine.
However, U.S. officials do not consider this weapon to be a decisive factor in the war against Ukraine, the official stated.
Recall that on the night of November 21, Russian forces struck Ukraine for the first time with the “Oreshnik” missile, targeting Dnipro.
The Russian dictator Putin claimed that the tests of the “Oreshnik” were conducted “in response to NATO's aggressive actions towards Russia.” The Pentagon reported that Russia informed the U.S. about the launch of the experimental ballistic missile 30 minutes before takeoff.
Later, Putin began threatening strikes with the “Oreshnik” on “decision-making centers.”
Additionally, Alexander Lukashenko proposed to Putin to station the Russian missile system “Oreshnik” in Belarus. Putin responded that this will be possible in the second half of 2025, “when Russia establishes mass production of this missile.”
At the same time, the CPD stated that Russia will not be able to produce 25 such missiles per month, as some media outlets have reported.
