Рада приняла закон о базовой военной подготовке. Он, в частности, предполагает, что базовая военная подготовка и воинский учет для женщин будут добровольными.

The Verkhovna Rada has adopted amendments to the law "On Military Duty and Military Service" regarding the specifics of registering Ukrainian citizens for military service and their medical examination during basic military training.

A total of 298 members of parliament voted for law No. 12076.

The law specifically provides for the following:

  • Young men turning 17 can register as conscripts without coming to Ukraine—through the conscript's electronic cabinet;

  • Women who wish to undergo basic military training can register as conscripts voluntarily. However, women with medical or pharmaceutical qualifications are required to register.

Additionally, the law stipulates that commanders of military units, heads of intelligence agencies, and leaders of the Central Directorate or regional SBU offices will be able to issue orders for calling up reservists and conscripts for service during mobilization, specifically on the day of conscription and enrollment in the military unit's roster.

It is worth noting that basic military training will replace mandatory service starting in September 2025.
