According to journalists, the visit is expected to take place in the "coming weeks." Starmer will travel to Kyiv, where he will hold talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

It is noted that the discussions will revolve around the possibility of deploying peacekeepers in Ukraine after the war with the Russian Federation concludes.

Reporters also mentioned that Starmer discussed this topic with French leader Emmanuel Macron during their talks on January 9. The politicians believe that the prospects for deployment will depend on the nature of the peace agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

It should be recalled that in December, the European Union's high representative for foreign policy and security, Kaia Kalas, stated that the bloc's countries are not currently planning to discuss sending peacekeepers to Ukraine. At the same time, Zelensky mentioned that he had already raised this issue during meetings in Brussels.

Just yesterday, Zelensky described the deployment of peacekeepers as one of the best tools to compel the Russian Federation to seek peace.
