The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft state budget for 2025 for the second reading.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.
According to him, the main priority remains unchanged – the largest portion of funds will be allocated to the defense and security sector of Ukraine.
“We propose to allocate 2 trillion 225 billion UAH for these needs. All funds from Ukrainian taxpayers will be directed exclusively towards ensuring the security and defense forces, as well as for the production and procurement of new weapons, drones, and equipment,” the official wrote.
Additionally, the Cabinet proposes to increase the budget expenditures by 50 billion UAH:
- 24 billion UAH for education – 12 billion for teacher bonuses and another 12 billion for investment projects;
- 6.3 billion UAH for healthcare;
- 5 billion UAH for veteran support;
- 12.6 billion UAH for the repair of road sections that are “important for defense and the functioning of the state’s economy.”
“We also anticipated the continued operation of the eRecovery program and its full funding,” Shmyhal added.
Recall that the bill was adopted in the first reading on October 31. A total of 247 deputies voted for the document.
