The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine has struck a refinery in Saratov, Russia. Reports of explosions emerged this morning.
This information comes from Suspilne, citing sources.
It has been reported that Ukrainian drones struck one of the refinery's processing units as well as storage tanks containing fuel oil, according to a source.
"Information about multiple explosions in the Zavodsky district of Saratov, where the refinery is located, has been confirmed not only by residents on social media but also by local authorities. The governor of Saratov region attributed the explosions to air defense operations against UAVs," the publication states.
Recall that this morning, the Russian publication ASTRA released footage of the fire in Saratov, reporting on the attack on the refinery. Local governor Roman Busargin stated that a drone was shot down over the city at night, with some debris falling in the industrial zone of the Zavodsky district.
Earlier, it was reported that three Russian refineries partially halted operations due to being unable to complete repairs because of sanctions.
