В Калифорнии уже второй день идет борьба с масштабным лесным пожаром. В результате стихии погибли по меньшей мере 5 человек, еще более 70 тысяч человек эвакуированы.

In California, the battle against a massive wildfire that has engulfed Los Angeles and its surrounding areas has been ongoing for the second day. As a result of the disaster, at least five people have lost their lives, and thousands of homes have been destroyed.

This information was reported by BBC.

The fire, affecting the neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, and Woodley, has already been labeled the most devastating in the city's history. Currently, the fire's containment level stands at 0%, and firefighting teams are critically short on water for battling the flames.

The disaster has left 1.5 million residents of the state without electricity, and at least 70,000 people have already been evacuated. In the upscale areas of Los Angeles, the fire has obliterated numerous luxury mansions, including the home of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, which is located within the evacuation zone.

According to local media, almost nothing remains of the iconic coastal area of Malibu. To assist the rescuers, the Pentagon has dispatched military aircraft.

Recall that on January 8, a large wildfire broke out in the prestigious area of Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles (USA), where Hollywood stars reside, leading to the evacuation of about 30,000 individuals. The fire is spreading rapidly due to strong winds.

Earlier in September, massive wildfires erupted in Portugal. As a result, people died and were injured.
