The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a bill imposing sanctions on employees of the International Criminal Court (ICC). This decision was made in response to the court issuing warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

The document calls for condemning the warrants "in the strongest possible terms" and includes sanctions for any attempts by the court to prosecute U.S. citizens or their allies. Sanctions may involve blocking financial transactions in the U.S. and revoking visas.

Israel and the U.S., which are not parties to the ICC, contest the court's jurisdiction. Netanyahu's government has described the warrants as "absurd and anti-Semitic."

The initiative received support from 247 votes, including 42 from Democrats. In the Republican-controlled Senate, the bill also stands a good chance of approval.

As is known, on November 21, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and the commander of Hamas's military wing, Mohammed Deif. They are accused of war crimes.

The Netherlands and The United Kingdom have already expressed their readiness to arrest Netanyahu under the ICC warrant if he enters their territory.
