Главный дипломат Европейского Союза Жозеп Боррель прибыл в Киев в субботу, 9 ноября. Это его последний визит в Украину на этой должности.

The Chief Diplomat of the European Union Josep Borrell arrived in Kyiv on Saturday, November 9.

This is mentioned in a statement by Josep Borrell on Twitter.

The Chief Diplomat of the European Union is visiting Ukraine for the fifth time since the beginning of the full-scale war with Russia. He was greeted at the station by the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova.

Borrell noted that this would be his final visit to Ukraine in this role.

Support for Ukraine from the EU has been my personal priority during my mandate and will remain on the EU agenda,” the statement reads.

Next month, former Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, who is considered an opponent of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, will replace Josep Borrell in this position.

Recall that on July 18, Ursula von der Leyen was re-elected as President of the European Commission. Her candidacy received 401 votes in favor.

On September 17, she presented the composition of her new commission. Von der Leyen described her team as having a “more compact” and “interactive and interconnected structure,” focused on the core principles of “prosperity, security, and democracy.”
