The Russian troops have indeed managed to cross the state border in the Sumy region; however, the Defense Forces quickly blocked the breach and pushed the enemy back.

This was stated by the spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmitry Likhoviy, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

Map of combat operations in Ukraine: situation as of February 28The General Staff presented current maps of combat operations in Ukraine. Over the course of a day, there were 128 combat clashes on the front.

He mentioned that the enemy had been assaulting a section of the border near the settlement of Novenke since February 25. The Russians deployed two mechanized platoons for this purpose.

“Subsequently, Russian troops continue attempts at assault operations, now using infantry groups,” noted Likhoviy.

He emphasized that the Defense Forces are taking all necessary measures to prevent the enemy from cutting off Ukrainian logistics.

“Combat operations in this area are ongoing,” added the representative of the General Staff.

Recall that today, DeepState analysts marked the village of Novenke on the map as a "gray" zone of combat operations. After that, the CPD stated that Russian military forces had intensified in this area and were conducting assaults, but there had been no breach of the border.

Earlier, it became known that Ukrainian paratroopers had taken control of the settlement of Kotlino in the Pokrovsk direction.
