On January 29, Commander of the Ground Forces Mikhail Drapaty officially took charge of the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsia," which is currently defending at the most challenging section of the front.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, on Facebook.
According to him, today Drapaty was introduced as the new commander to the personnel of the OSHV "Khortytsia." In this position, he replaced Major General Andrey Gnatov.
"I thanked Major General Andrey Gnatov for his work in the OSHV 'Khortytsia,' who will continue to serve as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Syrsky stated.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces emphasized that currently, the enemy is concentrating most of its forces on the fronts related to the operational zone of OSHV "Khortytsia." The tasks of the Defense Forces are to maintain the line, inflict maximum losses on the enemy, and care for the Ukrainian defenders.
As a reminder, on January 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Major General Mikhail Drapaty as the commander of the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsia."
On November 29 of last year, Zelensky appointed Drapaty as the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Drapaty announced a large-scale transformation of the Ground Forces.
Prior to this, Drapaty led the Joint Task Force "Kharkiv."
