Before the end of his presidential term, Joe Biden will be persuading the newly elected president Donald Trump and Congress to continue supporting Ukraine.
This was reported by CBS News, citing Biden's national security advisor Jake Sullivan.
According to him, the approach of the current U.S. administration in recent days remains the same as it has been for the past two and a half years, namely "to put Ukraine in the strongest position on the battlefield so that it can take the strongest position at the negotiating table."
Biden's advisor confirmed that the administration will strive to utilize all resources allocated by Congress for military support to Ukraine before the end of its term.
"And, of course, President Biden will have the opportunity over the next 70 days to demonstrate to Congress and the new administration that the United States must not step back from Ukraine, as stepping back from Ukraine means even greater instability in Europe," he added.
At the same time, Sullivan declined to comment on whether there is any specific legislative proposal regarding funding assistance to Ukraine.
Recall that on Wednesday, November 13, U.S. President Joe Biden will hold a meeting with the newly elected head of the United States, Donald Trump. This meeting will focus on the upcoming transfer of power.
