Yatsenyuk believes Europe should seize Russian assets and urges the U.S. to support this action.

Europe should confiscate the assets of the aggressor country, Russia, and call on the United States to join this effort. This opinion was expressed by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the head of the Kyiv Security Forum and Prime Minister of Ukraine from 2014 to 2016, during a special event on February 21. The event was streamed on the YouTube channel of Yatsenyuk's foundation, "Open Ukraine."
Яценюк уверен, что Европе следует изъять активы России и обратиться с этим призывом к США.

"Approximately $300 billion of Russian assets are not in the United States but in the EU. Do not fear the Russians. If we want to win this war, we must take action. Europe should confiscate these assets and tell the American president: 'We have done our part, now it's your turn to do the same,'" he stated.

According to him, the confiscated funds could be used for defense purchases for Ukraine.

The head of the KBF also raised the issue of sanctions. In his view, the European Union should impose secondary sanctions on those who circumvent the sanctions policy of the EU and the US.

Yatsenyuk also spoke about the potential tension among G7 countries regarding a resolution condemning Russia's aggression, as "supposedly the US is not very eager to endorse such wording."

"But act proactively. Say: 'We are ready to adopt the G7 decision with a clear statement from all participating countries that they will increase military spending, are prepared to support Ukraine, and are willing to purchase weapons from the US. We are ready to strengthen our alliances. And you, Mr. President, should include this wording in the statement,'" Yatsenyuk said.

In the opinion of the KBF head, the art of political agreements, which he called "so popular in the modern world," works precisely this way.

"Either we want [US President Donald] Trump to win, or we want [Russian illegitimate President Vladimir] Putin to win. I am sure we want Trump to win. After all, we want Ukraine to succeed. So let’s use this sensible approach – give the Americans what they ask for in order to get what we need. We live in such a world," Yatsenyuk added.
