The general drew this conclusion following the Munich Security Conference, where he met with a large delegation from the U.S. Congress.
"I sat with Senator Lindsey Graham, who is very close to President [Donald] Trump, along with several other members of the House of Representatives from both the Republican and Democratic parties. They came to Munich to show their support. I believe there is a bipartisan consensus on the need to continue supporting Ukraine," Petraeus stated.
According to him, the U.S. has provided more security assistance to Ukraine than all other countries combined.
Petraeus highlighted the significant advancements Ukraine has made in its defense industry, noting that last year the country produced more 155mm howitzers than it received. He specifically mentioned the innovation of Ukrainians in the field of drone production, which, according to the general, "will become the future of warfare," thus urging continued support for Ukraine and enabling it to achieve "incredible innovations."
This current visit to Kyiv marked the general's fifth since the onset of the Russian invasion.
"Remember that we share values and principles, we cherish them, and that is why we have provided so much assistance from the United States, and that is why other NATO countries and European and Western nations have done the same," he emphasized.
