Approximately 2,700 soldiers fighting on the side of the occupiers from North Korea have been injured, according to an agency citing the National Intelligence Service (NIS) of South Korea.
The NIS attributes the high casualties among North Korean troops to a "lack of understanding of modern warfare" and ineffective actions on the front lines. Additionally, the command is said to encourage soldiers to commit suicide due to the likelihood of being captured by Ukrainian forces, according to intelligence sources.
In response to information from Ukraine regarding the detention of two North Koreans by Ukraine in the Kursk region, the special services reported that both soldiers served in the Main Intelligence Bureau, a key military intelligence agency of North Korea. An agency source noted that the prisoners declined South Korea's offer to accept them.
