The American billionaire Elon Musk could become such a figure, the newspaper notes.
As reported by the media, China is challenging the law that bans TikTok in the U.S. unless the Chinese company ByteDance sells its stake. This Supreme Court decision will take effect on January 19, unless the court decides to halt its implementation.
The TikTok ban is one of the issues intensifying relations between the U.S. and China ahead of the inauguration of the elected American president Donald Trump on January 20. The newspaper points out that the top leadership in Beijing views the social network as one of the potential topics for confrontations.
Trump himself has stated that he wants to find a way to allow TikTok to remain in the U.S.
At the same time, any willingness to reach an agreement will not align with the stance of Chinese leaders, who believe it is necessary to oppose the American law, which they consider unacceptable.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted that this is "the logic of robbers," as they believe it is "an attempt to take away everything good that others have by any means," the newspaper quotes.
