A Moscow court overturned the sentence of a former Ukrainian ambassador to Kazakhstan, which was issued for comments made about Russians.

The Moscow City Court has overturned the August verdict against former Ukrainian ambassador to Kazakhstan, Petr Vrublevsky, who was charged with inciting hatred or hostility. This information was shared by the Moscow City Court via Telegram on November 11.

"The Judicial Panel on Criminal Cases of the Moscow City Court, due to violations of criminal procedural law, has annulled the verdict of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow regarding Vrublevsky and has sent the criminal case back to the same court for a new hearing to consider the substance of the charges," the statement reads.

In March, Vrublevsky was arrested in absentia  in Russia and placed on the international wanted list.

The in-absentia verdict against him was announced by the Basmanny Court of Moscow on August 26. Vrublevsky was found guilty under the article regarding incitement of hatred or hostility and was sentenced to six years in prison.
