From the first days of the war, Groysman was in Kyiv and Vinnytsia, where the former prime minister continues to work, said Ryabchuk. He reminded that in late February 2022, Vinnytsia became a sort of hub. The city welcomed people fleeing the war to safer regions.
"All these people needed to be housed somewhere, and something had to be done with them. It was a constant effort. In fact, Volodymyr Borisovych was among the first to participate in this. He and Serhiy Morgunov. The entire team immediately got involved in the work," Ryabchuk shared.
According to him, the result of this effort was the establishment of the Interregional Coordinating Humanitarian Headquarters in the early days of March, by decision of the city and regional councils. Groysman headed the headquarters.
Additionally, the ex-prime minister worked extensively to highlight events in Ukraine to an international audience, Ryabchuk mentioned. He noted that the politician gave three to four interviews for a global audience every day, commenting on the situation for various international media outlets, ranging from CNN and BBC to media from countries like India.
"Groysman, along with everyone else, would go down to the shelter in the city council during alarms," the spokesperson recounted. He also displayed a photo he took himself, showing Volodymyr Groysman in a basement room preparing for an interview.
Ryabchuk also recalled how, during a meeting of the Interregional Coordinating Headquarters led by Groysman, he read in an anonymous Telegram channel the news that the ex-prime minister was in the USA. At that moment, the politician was actually speaking at the meeting, sitting just a meter away from the spokesperson, Ryabchuk noted.
