A Trump advisor stated that Zelensky was "not dressed appropriately" to address the issues of ending the war in Ukraine.

On March 2, in a statement to Fox News, U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz expressed uncertainty about whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky genuinely wishes to halt the fighting in his country. This remark came in response to Zelensky's meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Советник Трампа отметил, что Зеленский был "не в той одежде", чтобы обсуждать вопросы завершения войны в Украине.

"He entered dressed in a way that did not suggest he was prepared to address such matters. Vice President [J.D. Vance] stated, 'Enough.' President [Trump] remarked, 'Enough.' And I must tell you, that was the wrong approach, the wrong time in history, and certainly not the president to attempt such a thing. This is not [former President] Joe Biden," Waltz said.

According to the official, after the press was asked to leave the Oval Office, Trump’s aides advised halting negotiations, as any further discussion would only exacerbate the situation.

"We essentially advised President [Trump] unanimously that after that insult in the Oval Office, we just do not see how we can move forward," he said.
