Ukraine is finishing the year on a financially stable note, stated Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Cabinet meeting on December 24. The transcript was published on the government's website.
Шмыгаль: 2024 год завершаем с финансовой стабильностью.

"An important area of our focus is attracting financial resources. We will conclude 2024 under conditions of financial stability. Our defense forces are fully funded through taxes, fees, and internal loans," said the Prime Minister.

He noted that civilian expenditures in Ukraine are covered thanks to its partners.

"We have received over €16 billion from the EU under the Ukraine Facility program. Nearly $5.4 billion has come from the collaboration with the IMF. We have already completed the sixth review of the program, and yesterday Ukraine received a new financial tranche. There is also significant support from the USA, the World Bank, Japan, Canada, and other partners. This year alone, direct budget support is expected to total around $41 billion," Shmyhal explained.

The head of the government emphasized that international solidarity enables Ukraine to fulfill all its obligations in full.

Shmyhal pointed out that over the past 11 months, more than 510 billion UAH has been allocated from the state budget for social security, 140 billion UAH for the state medical guarantees program, and 163 billion UAH for transfers to local budgets.

"We clearly understand where we will source funds next year. We expect to attract over $38 billion in external financing to cover essential non-military budget expenditures. Additionally, we aim to obtain funds from frozen Russian assets," the Prime Minister stated.
