According to the investigation, a 21-year-old resident of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region was preparing a synchronized explosion of an administrative building of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a parked car on the orders of Russian special services.
"The agent arrived in the Odesa region and rented an apartment there, where she personally created the explosive device. The base for the explosive was plastic explosives that she retrieved from a pre-prepared stash. To maximize damage, the suspect filled it with nuts, and for remote detonation, she used a mobile phone," the SBU reported.
Security forces noted that they prevented one explosion. The second bomb was activated remotely from Russian territory, but the SBU was prepared and prevented any human casualties.
The suspect has been charged under part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy). The court has placed the accused in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
