"Ambassadors have just agreed on the 15th package of sanctions in response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The package adds more individuals and organizations to the existing sanctions list and targets entities in Russia and in third countries, aside from Russia, that indirectly contribute to Russia's military and technological advancements by circumventing export restrictions," the statement reads.
According to the release, the new sanctions package will restrict the activities of additional vessels owned by third countries that assist or support Russia's actions against Ukraine.

"European Truth" reports that the EU sanctions list proposed adding 29 legal entities and 54 individuals, and the 15th package may be discussed by the foreign ministers of EU countries on December 16.
On November 25, the UK imposed sanctions against the "shadow tanker fleet" of Russia, affecting several dozen vessels.
On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the EU to also impose sanctions on vessels that help Russia generate income from oil to continue its war against Ukraine.
The term "shadow fleet" refers to vessels that the aggressor country Russia uses to export oil in violation of Western sanctions. According to The Financial Times, since December 2022, when the G7 countries, Australia, and the EU introduced a price cap on Russian oil, Russia has managed to gather about 400 vessels for fuel transportation.
