According to Austin, the package includes additional missiles for Ukrainian air defense, more ammunition, air-to-ground missiles, and other equipment to support Ukrainian F-16s.
"Ukraine's struggle is important for all of us. As I stated here in Ramstein at our first meeting in April 2022, the war by [illegitimate president of the aggressor state RF, Vladimir] Putin is a challenge to free people around the world. We all have a vested interest in ensuring that autocrats cannot place their imperial ambitions above the fundamental rights of free and sovereign peoples. Ukraine is waging a just war of self-defense. It is one of the greatest causes of our time," Austin said.
He noted that allies have allocated over $122 billion in security assistance to Ukraine and expanded factories worldwide. This has enabled Ukraine to receive capabilities ranging from artillery systems to ammunition and main battle tanks, the Pentagon chief highlighted.
