Germany's Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schulze, arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit to deliver the promised winter aid package from Germany to Ukraine. This was reported on December 12 by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany on the social media platform X.

"This aid is arriving, and it is urgently needed. It is vital for people's survival during winter," quotes Schulze from the ministry.

The official stated that Russia aims to damage Ukraine's energy system and leave Ukrainians "in the cold and darkness," as reported by "Deutsche Welle".

"That is why we have mobilized additional funds again to help restore energy supply here," Schulze said. She also added that she "wants to personally ensure that the money goes where it is needed."
