An interview with Russian opposition politician and former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has been released on the YouTube channel "In the Guest of Gordon."
Война окончена, обсуждаются условия мирного договора. Путин надеется на снятие санкций. Интервью Гордона с Касьяновым. Смотрите видео!

During an interview with Dmitry Gordon, the founder of the online publication "GORDON," Kasyanov discussed:

  • the war in Ukraine, including when it might end and what the conditions for resolution could be;
  • Donald Trump's initial actions as President of the United States;
  • whether the U.S. could take control of Greenland and if Canada might become a U.S. state;
  • whether Trump would lower oil prices to end the war in Ukraine;
  • American billionaire and close Trump associate Elon Musk;
  • whether U.S. military assistance to Ukraine will continue;
  • the economic situation in Russia.

"Of course, [the illegitimate president of the aggressor country, RF, Vladimir] Putin wants the sanctions lifted. The economy [of the RF] won't hold out for long under these conditions. It may last through this year, but by the end of the year, the risks will be serious, and fundamental decisions will need to be made about what to do next. The situation is deteriorating. Despite the budget being executed and everything seeming stable, there is no macroeconomic stability, as Putin claims. Inflation has spiraled out of control, there's a shift of personnel from the civilian sector to the military, there's no one left to work, many enterprises are on the brink of bankruptcy, and migrants are not arriving... The problems are significant, and in a year, they will come to a head," Kasyanov stated.

Kasyanov was born in 1957 in the Moscow region. He graduated from the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction Institute (specializing as a "civil engineer").

In the 1980s, he worked in the apparatus of the State Planning Committee of the RSFSR, and in the early 1990s, he worked in the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance of the RF. From 1995 to 1999, Kasyanov served as Deputy Minister of Finance of the RF. In this role, he negotiated with external creditors regarding the resolution of the former USSR's debt. From 1999 to 2000, he held the position of Minister of Finance of the RF, and from 2000 to 2004, he headed the Russian government.

In 2008, he planned to run for President of the RF, but was denied registration.

In 2010, together with politicians Boris Nemtsov and Vladimir Ryzhkov, he founded a democratic coalition, which later became the Party of People's Freedom (PARNAS). Since 2015, he has been leading this party.

Currently, Kasyanov resides in Latvia.
