"Otherwise, it means nothing." Zelensky stated that Ukraine will need at least 200,000 soldiers from Europe after the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that at least 200,000 European peacekeepers will be necessary to ensure security guarantees following the war initiated by the aggressor country, Russia, against Ukraine. He made this statement during an interview after his address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, as reported by Reuters on January 21.
"Иначе это ничего". Зеленский отметил, что для восстановления Украины после войны потребуется как минимум 200 тыс. военных из Европы.

According to the head of state, this specific number of foreign military personnel will prevent a new invasion of Russian troops; "otherwise, it means nothing." He added that the strength of the Russian armed forces is 1.5 million people, while the Ukrainian army comprises only half of that number.

As noted by the media, the number of troops mentioned by Zelensky is roughly equivalent to the size of the French army.

French military historian and Colonel Michel Goya stated in an interview with Le Parisien, published on March 31, 2024, that the size of the French army is approximately 200,000 personnel, taking into account all three components (land, air, and naval forces). Additionally, he mentioned that there are tens of thousands of reservists.
