They refuted claims that the former Prime Minister had been assaulted, as reported by the media. Specifically, the former head of the Co-Investment Fund, Giorgi Bachiashvili, stated in an interview with TV Pirveli that Garibashvili was admitted to trauma care following an "altercation" within the party. He also mentioned that there had been a "split" in the party and that Garibashvili had not been seen in the office for over two weeks.
During the night, a statement was also made by former Prime Minister and ex-Minister of Internal Affairs, now opposition figure Giorgi Gakharia. He said on the television channel that members of the "Georgian Dream" were already "physically attacking each other".
"In reality, the chairman of the 'Georgian Dream' injured his shoulder during a training session and required minor medical assistance. Garibashvili continues to work," the party announced.
On December 3, the channel Mtavari reported, citing its sources, that Garibashvili was leaving the party; later, the former official denied this as misinformation.
