Agents from the bureau and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have established that the head of a police department purchased an apartment and two non-residential premises worth 2.5 million UAH in one of Kyiv's elite residential complexes in 2021, registering them in the name of relatives.
"They were registered under the sister of his wife, but in fact, the official was the true owner... The law enforcement officer had no legal income to acquire the property, which is why it was registered under a third party," the statement says.
The subject pretended to rent the apartment and received 150,000 UAH in compensation from the state for it, as noted by the State Bureau of Investigations (GBR).
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) has already filed a lawsuit in the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine to recognize the official's assets as unjustified. The prosecutors are proposing to confiscate them and also seek reimbursement of state payments.
